All I have to say is it's a wonderful time to be in Arles.

Yesterday I had the wonderful chance to see just how special Arles is.

Seeing all of the women dressed in the traditional costume of Arles and well, the Gardians...

Dressed in their traditional clothes and the stunning white horses..

AMAZING!!

Yesterday was the Fete des Gardians...

FRENCH COWBOYS!!!

According to my ticket to the events in the arena this was something like the 496th fete!!

Damn!!

Something to be said for tradition.

Below is a short little video that I put together of some of the 400 photographs that I took

tee hee.....

I have really come to realize just how special this part of the world really is....

I hope you enjoy the video...

It seemed to be the only way I could get the best of the pictures I took on here.

Really great pictures! Your blog is one of my favorite stops when my kids are not rowdy and give me a small break ;-)
I noticed that you have a beautiful necklace in one of last year's photos. What does the symbol mean? The anchor and cross that is... i've seen it somewhere else, but don't remember where.. Thanx :-)

Hey Hey Aleksandra...
The cross with the "anchor" is actually a symbol of the Camargue. It's used all over this part of France... It is a combination of about It's the sailor's Cross. The Gardian's staff and I am not sure what the heart symbolizes. I have been told that it is the heart of the Camargue but I am not sure on that...
Thanks for the peek
